Warranty Policy & Service Disclaimer

At Local Home Services, we take pride in delivering professional, reliable workmanship. This Warranty Policy outlines what is covered, what is not, and how warranty claims are handled. Please review the applicable section for your service type.

Limited Service Warranty

1. Overview

This Warranty Policy & Service Disclaimer defines the scope, limitations, and conditions of warranty coverage provided by Local Home Services for appliance repair services.

By approving, authorizing, or receiving services, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the terms set out in this policy.

2. Limited Warranty Coverage

Local Home Services provides a limited warranty on labor and workmanship only for completed repairs performed by its technicians.

2.1 Labor and Workmanship

Labor and workmanship are warranted for a period of up to ninety (90) days from the date of service.

This warranty applies strictly to the specific repair performed and does not extend to the appliance as a whole.

2.2 Parts Warranty

Parts installed during a repair may be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, typically ranging from 30 days to 1 year, depending on the manufacturer and part type.

All parts warranties:

  • Are provided solely by the manufacturer
  • Are subject to manufacturer terms and conditions
  • Are not independently guaranteed by Local Home Services

Local Home Services may assist with manufacturer warranty claims but is not responsible for the outcome or processing of such claims.

3. Diagnostic Services – No Warranty

A diagnostic or service call is a standalone professional service and does not constitute a repair.

No warranty applies to:

  • Diagnostic visits
  • Estimates or quotes
  • Recommendations or assessments

A diagnosis reflects a point-in-time professional opinion based on observable conditions and testing at the time of service.

The identification of one faulty component does not guarantee that additional components will not fail in the future.

4. Warranty Eligibility Conditions

Warranty coverage applies only if all of the following conditions are met:

  • The repair was fully completed by Local Home Services
  • The invoice has been paid in full
  • The appliance has not been altered, modified, or serviced by another party
  • The reported issue is directly related to the original repair performed

Local Home Services reserves the right to inspect the appliance and determine eligibility prior to approving warranty service.

5. What Is Covered

Where a valid warranty claim is confirmed, Local Home Services will:

  • Re-attend the service location
  • Inspect the appliance
  • Correct defects in workmanship directly related to the original repair

Coverage is limited strictly to the scope of the original repair.

6. Exclusions (What Is Not Covered)

This warranty does not cover, and Local Home Services shall not be responsible for:

6.1 Unrelated or New Issues
  • Failures of components not included in the original repair
  • New or additional faults
6.2 External or Environmental Causes
  • Power surges or electrical irregularities
  • Improper voltage or supply issues
  • Flooding, fire, water damage, or natural events
6.3 Misuse or Neglect
  • Improper operation or overloading
  • Lack of maintenance
  • Failure to follow manufacturer instructions
6.4 Third-Party or Customer Intervention
  • Repairs or inspections by another technician or company
  • Customer-performed repairs or modifications
  • Tampering with installed parts
6.5 Appliance Condition
  • Obsolete or discontinued appliances
  • Appliances with unavailable replacement parts
  • Appliances deemed uneconomical or unsafe to repair
6.6 Consumables and Wear
  • Cosmetic issues
  • Noise concerns not related to repair
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Consumable items such as filters, bulbs, fuses, or seals not related to the repair

7. Non-Warranty Service (Invalid Warranty Claims)

If a customer requests a warranty service visit and it is determined that the issue is not related to the original repair, the visit will be treated as a new service call.

In such cases:

  • A standard Service Call / Diagnostic Fee will apply
  • The visit will be billed as a new diagnostic service
  • A new estimate will be provided for any additional repair required

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Failure of a different component
  • User-related or operational issues
  • Electrical or environmental factors
  • Issues unrelated to the original repair

8. Service Call and Diagnostic Fees

A service call / diagnostic fee applies to all visits.

This fee covers:

  • Technician dispatch and travel
  • Inspection and testing
  • Professional assessment

The diagnostic fee is:

  • Non-refundable once service is performed
  • Payable regardless of repair outcome

The diagnostic fee is waived only where:

  • A qualifying repair is completed
  • The repair includes both parts and labor
  • The invoice is paid in full

If a repair is declined, postponed, or cannot be completed, the diagnostic fee remains payable.

9. Multi-Visit Repairs and Limitations

Some repairs require multiple visits due to parts availability or complexity.

Warranty applies only to the completed repair and does not extend to delays or incomplete work pending parts or authorization.

Additional visits may be subject to additional charges unless otherwise stated in writing.

10. Warranty Void Conditions

This warranty is immediately void if:

  • Work is performed by another service provider
  • The customer performs repairs or modifications
  • Installed components are tampered with
  • The appliance is relocated from the original service address
  • Customer-supplied parts were used in the repair

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Local Home Services shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to:

  • Food spoilage
  • Loss of stored goods or medication
  • Water damage
  • Property damage
  • Loss of use
  • Business interruption

Local Home Services is not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing conditions
  • Failures of unrelated components
  • Age-related deterioration
  • Delays caused by manufacturers, suppliers, or shipping carriers

12. Proof of Service Requirement

All warranty claims must include valid proof of service, including:

  • Original invoice or receipt
  • Service date
  • Work order number
  • Description of original repair

Claims may be denied if sufficient documentation is not provided.

To request warranty service, the customer must contact Local Home Services through designated support channels.

The following information is required:

  • Full name
  • Service address
  • Appliance type and issue
  • Original service date
  • Invoice or work order number

All claims are subject to review and approval prior to scheduling.

14. Non-Transferability

Warranty coverage is:

  • Non-transferable
  • Valid only for the original customer
  • Valid only at the original service location

15. Right to Inspect and Determine Eligibility

Local Home Services reserves the right to:

  • Inspect the appliance before approving warranty work
  • Determine whether the issue falls within warranty coverage
  • Refuse warranty service where conditions are not met

16. Policy Updates

Local Home Services reserves the right to modify this Warranty Policy at any time.

The version in effect at the time of service shall apply to the applicable work order, unless otherwise required by law.
